Ingredients

Scale

Meat

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)

Sauce

  • 4 garlic cloves, freshly minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (oregano, basil, thyme blend)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Season the Pork Chops: Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to create a flavorful crust and lock in juices.
  2. Sear the Pork Chops: Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, add pork chops and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside, retaining the browned bits in the pan.
  3. Make the Garlic Parmesan Cream Sauce: Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Pour in heavy cream, scraping up browned bits from the pan bottom. Simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until the sauce starts to thicken. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  4. Combine and Simmer: Return pork chops to skillet, spoon the creamy sauce over them. Cover with a lid and simmer gently for 5-7 minutes until pork chops are fully cooked and infused with the sauce flavors.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the pork chops before serving for a fresh color and flavor boost.

Notes

  • Dry pork chops thoroughly before searing to achieve a perfect crust and prevent steaming.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan by searing one or two chops at a time for even browning.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for better melting and a richer flavor.
  • Simmer sauce gently over low heat to prevent cream from curdling.
  • Let pork chops rest a few minutes after cooking to retain juiciness before slicing.
