Ingredients

Scale

Proteins

  • 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined

Vegetables

  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 23 garlic cloves, minced

Flavorings & Seasonings

  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional), a pinch
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Rinse the shrimp and asparagus thoroughly. Trim the woody ends off the asparagus and cut into bite-sized pieces. Mince the garlic cloves and zest the lemon. Set the lemon aside for juicing.
  2. Cook the Asparagus: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes until tender but still crisp, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  3. Add the Garlic and Shrimp: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the pan, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Finish with Lemon: Once shrimp are cooked through, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the pan and sprinkle the lemon zest. Gently toss to combine and evenly coat all ingredients in the bright, zesty sauce.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and optional red pepper flakes. Plate and enjoy your fresh Lemon Garlic Shrimp and Asparagus.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp and asparagus for the best flavor and texture.
  • Cook shrimp only until pink and opaque to keep them tender.
  • Slice asparagus evenly for consistent cooking.
  • Use a hot pan to achieve a perfect sear without overcooking.
  • Zest the lemon before juicing to avoid bitterness.
