Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 24 Oreo Cookies (classic chocolate sandwich cookies)
  • 8 oz (225g) Cream Cheese, softened

Coating and Decorations

  • 12 oz (340g) Green Candy Melts or White Chocolate with green food coloring
  • Red Sprinkles or Mini Red Candies (for Santa hat details)
  • Optional: Edible googly eyes or piped icing for decoration

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place Oreo cookies into a food processor and pulse until finely ground into crumbs. If you don’t have a food processor, place the cookies in a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin until crumbly.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a bowl and add softened cream cheese. Use a spoon or your hands to thoroughly combine until you get a smooth, uniform dough that sticks together.
  3. Form the Balls: Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes so they firm up and are easier to dip.
  4. Melt the Candy Coating: Gently melt your green candy melts or white chocolate with green food coloring according to package instructions, stirring often to prevent overheating.
  5. Dip and Decorate: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted green coating, letting excess drip off before placing back on the parchment. Add red sprinkle details for the Santa hat, and if desired, attach edible eyes or pipe other decorations while the coating is still wet.
  6. Let Set: Allow the dipped balls to fully set at room temperature or speed up the process in the refrigerator until the coating is firm and glossy.

Notes

  • Make sure your cream cheese is fully softened to mix easily and avoid lumps.
  • Chill the Oreo balls thoroughly before dipping to help them hold their shape.
  • Melt candy coating slowly and stir gently to keep it smooth and prevent burning.
  • Use parchment paper when placing balls to prevent sticking and ease cleanup.
  • Heat candy melts in the microwave in short bursts, stirring in between, to maintain a smooth texture.
