Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground chicken
  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (substitute almond flour or gluten-free crumbs for gluten-free option)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking spray
  • 4 soft burger buns

Optional Toppings

  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Thinly sliced red onion
  • Pickles
  • Sliced avocado or guacamole

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, ranch seasoning, shredded cheddar cheese, egg, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Gently mix everything together until well combined, taking care not to overwork the meat to keep the burgers tender.
  2. Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each into a round, slightly flattened patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly.
  3. Cook the Burgers: Heat olive oil or cooking spray in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the outside is golden brown.
  4. Toast the Buns and Assemble: While the burgers finish cooking, toast your burger buns lightly in another pan or toaster. Assemble each burger by placing the chicken patty on the bun and adding your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, and onion.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix the chicken mixture to keep burgers juicy and tender.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F for safe consumption.
  • Let the cooked patties rest for a few minutes before serving to retain juices.
  • Try homemade ranch seasoning for fresher flavor.
  • Lightly toast buns to add texture and prevent sogginess.
