Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Finely chop the onion and cook the bacon until crispy. Crumble the bacon and set aside. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it’s ready for baking.
  2. Mix the Meatloaf Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Gently fold in the crumbled bacon and half of the shredded cheddar cheese until everything is evenly mixed. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.
  3. Shape the Meatloaf: Transfer the mixture onto a lined baking sheet or loaf pan. Form it into a loaf shape, smoothing the edges to ensure even cooking and a polished look.
  4. Add Toppings and Bake: Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top of the meatloaf. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to lock in the juices.
