Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter: Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Once melted, mix in granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined and slightly cooled. Add eggs one at a time, stirring vigorously after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, and gradually fold these dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  2. Assemble the Layers: Pour half of the brownie batter into a greased or parchment-lined baking pan and spread evenly. Warm the caramel sauce slightly to make it easier to drizzle, then spread it generously over the brownie layer. Pour the remaining batter on top and gently spread to seal the caramel inside.
  3. Bake to Perfection: Place the pan in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out mostly clean, with some moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking to keep the brownies fudgy.
