Blueberry Cheesecake Crescent Rolls

Blueberry Cheesecake Crescent Rolls

Blueberry Cheesecake Crescent Rolls combine creamy cheesecake filling with juicy blueberries wrapped in flaky, buttery crescent roll dough. This quick and easy baked treat offers a perfect balance of smooth, sweet, and tangy flavors, ideal for breakfast, brunch, dessert, or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Pastry

  • 1 package pre-made crescent roll dough (usually 8 oz)

Filling

  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup fresh or thawed frozen blueberries, drained

Optional

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash to give rolls a glossy finish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined. Gently fold in fresh or thawed, drained blueberries, taking care not to crush them.
  2. Preheat and Prepare the Dough: Preheat the oven to the temperature indicated on the crescent roll package, usually 375°F (190°C). Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Assemble the Rolls: Spoon a dollop of the blueberry cheesecake filling onto the wide end of each dough triangle. Carefully roll the dough from the wide end to the narrow tip, enclosing the filling completely to prevent leaks during baking.
  4. Egg Wash and Bake: If desired, brush each crescent roll with the beaten egg to achieve a glossy golden finish. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown on top.
  5. Cooling and Serving: Allow rolls to cool for a few minutes so the filling sets slightly. Serve warm for best flavor, or let cool and enjoy as a sweet snack.

Notes

  • Use full-fat cream cheese for a richer, creamier filling that holds better during baking.
  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent soggy bottoms and ensure even browning.
  • Avoid overfilling the dough to prevent filling leakage while baking.
  • If possible, chill the filling before assembling to help it firm up and reduce leaks.
  • Substitute sugar with honey or maple syrup for different flavor notes.
  • Serve fresh the day they are made to enjoy maximum flakiness.
